This is the next village along after Busquistar and is a fairly sleepy place.   Again, there is a mini supermarket and an ironmonger in this village and several restaurants and a couple of hotels on the main road.  There is a fuel station just after the village going towards Trevelez, which sells bottled gas as well as fuel.

Portugos is a good starting point for a short walk to the waterfalls and Rio Bermejo. You can read about this in the hikes section.

Better known than the village itself is Fuente Agria, also known as Ermita de la Virgin de las Agustiassituated on the outskirts of the village. There is a parking area with picnic tables etc, a small chapel, orErmita, and a spring from which emerges health restoring but sour tasting water. Below this there is a small gorge, where you can see how the iron in the water has stained the surrounding rock faces orange.
