Calahonda has some nice long sandy beaches which is about 20 minutes from Motril towards Almeria.
Not a beach that we go to but it is Very popular family friendly urban beach with boardwalk, restaurants and playground. It is dark volcanic sand and pebble. Popular with locals and Spanish tourist.
